Chatforce vs Godot + Claude Code: which gets a multiplayer game shipped?

Godot + Claude Code gives you a full game engine on your own machine and an AI agent that writes code in your project. Chatforce is a multi-agent AI game studio in the browser: describe the game and four agents build the code, art and audio, with online multiplayer in 2D and 3D and a shareable link at the end. If you want native builds and full engine control, pick Godot. If you want friends playing together from a link, start in Chatforce.

A third-party test: the same prop-hunt game, built both ways

On Oct 18, 2026, the YouTube channel Letta Corporation published “Godot + Claude vs Chatforce: Who Builds the Better 3D Multiplayer Game?”. The creator builds the same factory prop-hunt game twice.

The first build used Godot with Claude Code, a Godot MCP connection and a purchased asset pack, on a $200/month Claude plan. It took many setup steps and rounds of corrections. Its lighting and environment looked a little better, which the creator credits to the asset pack. It ended without multiplayer, and he said setting up multiplayer is a headache even with AI agents.

The second build ran in one Chatforce tab: a short idea, concept art, an art style and paint-over edits, then the agents built it. One prompt added online multiplayer. A phone joined the room from the link as a guest, with no account, and played alongside the desktop. His closing advice was to start in Chatforce.

Disclosure: Letta’s video was sponsored by Chatforce.

What Godot + Claude Code does well

Godot is a complete, free and open-source engine with a scene editor, GDScript and C#, and exports to Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS and the web. Nothing is locked to a platform, and you can change any part of the engine. Claude Code reads and edits the project directly, so an experienced developer can move fast while keeping full control of the code. For a game headed to a store, a native build, or a team that already knows Godot, it is a strong setup. See our Godot alternative page for more on when each fits.

Where Chatforce is faster

Chatforce takes the parts that usually stall a solo project, finding assets, wiring up netcode and hosting, and makes them part of the conversation. A first playable typically arrives in 10 to 15 minutes, then you iterate by describing changes. Online multiplayer works in both 2D and 3D games, and the published game lives at a browser URL that anyone can open on a phone or computer without installing anything. Published games carry no watermark.

Example prompt: A 3D prop-hunt game in a factory. Hiders turn into props, one seeker has 60 seconds to find them. Online multiplayer, friends join from a link, touch controls on phones.

Frequently asked questions

Can Claude Code make a multiplayer game in Godot?

It can help you write the networking code, but you still design, set up and test the multiplayer yourself. In Letta Corporation’s side-by-side video (Oct 18, 2026), the Godot + Claude Code build of a prop-hunt game ended without multiplayer; the creator said setting up multiplayer is a headache even with AI agents.

How does Chatforce add online multiplayer?

You ask for it in chat. Online multiplayer is supported in both 2D and 3D Chatforce games, and players join from a shareable browser link. In the same video, one prompt added multiplayer and a phone joined the room by link as a guest, with no account.

When is Godot + Claude Code the better choice?

When you want a full engine on your own machine: Godot is free and open source, gives you its editor, GDScript or C#, and native exports for desktop and mobile as well as the web. Claude Code then works directly in your project files. Chatforce does not make native console builds.

Is Chatforce free?

Plans start at $20/month and chip packs at $5, and you can join the Creator Program for free to get credits. Godot itself is free; Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan or API usage.

Do I own the game?

Yes on both. Chatforce creators own their work, and a Godot project lives on your own machine.
